Collections and Subject Librarians

A librarian has been assigned to work with each social science or humanities academic department served by Alderman Library. These subject librarians keep their departments informed about library services and resources, and learn about their departments' library needs. They select books, journals, and other materials for their disciplines, give instruction in use of the Library, handle specialized reference needs, and maintain World Wide Web pages to provide easy access to relevant electronic resources at UVa and elsewhere.
