- The Associated Press Archive of 500,000 photographs documents news events from 1840 to the present day. (UVA ONLY)
- The Cape Coast Archive is a US-ICOMOS sponsored repository of digital information on the architecture of Ghana.
- Viewing Suriname is a growing collection of media resources documenting the the natural and cultural landscapes of Suriname.
- Renaissance and Baroque Architecture is a collection of over 500 photographs of Renaissance and Baroque architectural monuments, available to al Web users.
- Museum Educational Site Licensing Project Over 9,000 images from seven major U.S. museums were originaly available to UVa users. This site exists as documentation of UVa's participation in this national demonstration project. The project formally ended in 1997.
- The Drama Department's Costume Archive is a growing collection of images of antique and modern garments.
- Images of the Transatlantic Slave Trade is a media database with images documenting many aspects of the slave trade.
- Stock Photograph collection , a collection of over 40,000 stock photographs on CD-ROM, can be used for University-related presentations, productions and projects. An online form allows searching of the stock photo database.
Exhibitions
- The Power of Woe, the Power of Life: Images of Women in Prints from the Renaissance to the Present is a virtual exhibition and VRML tour that focuses on the theme of the 'power of women' in graphic images from the collection of the Bayly Museum.
- Universes in Collision: Men and Women in 19th-Century Japanese Prints documents a Japanese print show from the Bayly Museum and includes a VRML tour of the exhibition space.
- Arise and Build: A Centennial Commemoration of the 1895 Rotunda Fire is an exhibit that features images of Jefferson's Rotunda, the Stanford White Rotunda and the modern Rotunda.
- Fiske Kimball: Master of the Diverse Arts is a Web version of an exhibit mounted in the Fiske Kimbal Fine Arts Library in October of 1995, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the library that was named in Kimbal's honor.
- African Art: Aesthetics and Meaning, an early web-based exhibit from the Bayly Museum, was developed in November 1993, in HTML 1.0.
