About Digital Collections
Three collections are or will soon be available in the UVa Library's Digital Collections Repository:
- selected English-language texts
- images of Art and Architecture
- Special Collections finding aids (collection guides)
More are added monthly through new production and the consolidation of existing digital collections from across the Library.
Some of the Digital Collections are restricted to the UVa community — users must be on Grounds, or authenticated through UVa Anywhere.
There are minimum software requirements for some functionality, including the installation of Java on your machine. Please see the Digital Collections help for more information.

Ways to explore the Digital Collections:
Use the form on the Digital Collections home page for simple keyword searches across all the UVa Library digital collections in the Repository. You can also do simple keyword searches within text collections, image collections, or finding aids.
An advanced search across all collections is also available, as are advanced searches within text, image, and finding aid collections.

Collectus and ImageViewer
Our Collectus digital object collector tool supports research and instruction by allowing users to save personal collections of images and texts from the Repository, generate web pages and slide shows, and manipulate individual images in real time. Collectus and the ImageViewer are accessed from the "Tools & Actions" menus below images and in the title bar for each electronic text. There are minimum software requirements for the use of the tools, including the installation of Java on your machine. For more information, see the Collectus and ImageViewer Help.
