Mission
Digital Access Services (DAS) serves both the Library's patrons and the Library
staff through its role in making collections accessible and usable.
DAS has as its responsibility the implementation and maintenance of services
for locating the Library's local and licensed collections, and the tools necessary
for digital use. Core DAS responsibilities include the Digital Collections Repository
and its associated end-user tools, integrated discovery services such as the
OpenURL Resolver and SingleSearch, and access management for licensed collections.
To support that goal, DAS has a role in the analysis and documentation of
delivery format and metadata standards, the technical assessment of proposed
digital collections, the definition of content models and disseminators (internal
storage and delivery standards) for the Repository, and the implementation
of discovery and delivery interfaces and tools. DAS is part of the Library's
Content Management Services division.
