Digital Library Federation
News Did you know that our library is a member of the Digital Library Federation - a consortium of 25 libraries that are pioneering in the use of electronic-information technologies to extend their collections and services? Recently, representatives from the Library particpated in a day-long DLF planning session on developing a registry service for digital subrogation projects. Also, Joan Ruelle and Daniel McShane have had papers accepted for presentation at the upcoming DLF Spring Forum in San Francisco. You can find out more about the Digital Library Federation at: http://www.diglib.org/. LofT Discussion Series Underway The LofT Discussion Series kicked off with a presentation by Chris Ruotolo on XML and its applications. Over 30 staff from the University Library as well as the Darden and Law School Libraries attended this session. Chris' presentation slides will soon be available on the web at http://www.lib.virginia.edu/digital/info/discussions/. Our next discussion will focus on metadata standards and implementation and will be lead by Daniel McShane on May 17th. Many thanks to Suzanne Bombard for administering this series through her office! |
