WebCat has a new look for spring! Thanks to the efforts of Chris Hoebeke and Garry Barrow the new design was unveiled January 11, 2003. This design updates the look of WebCat to the rest of the library web pages. It was created following usability testing of the current WebCat, and has been approved by Public VIRGO, VIRGO Steering and the User Services Council. Please note that this new design does not change any existing functionality. Over the next few weeks, minor changes may be made, especially to the interior pages.
DLPS Acquiring Book Scanner Digital Library Production
Services have purchased their first dedicated book scanner. The Minolta PS
3000 is designed for scanning bound volumes face-up to minimize handling as
well as stress on the book. As DLPS fine-tunes its book scanning workflow,
this new equipment should enable a quicker turnaround time for selectors'
keyboarding requests.
