Functional Content Specifications, Repository Implementation
|
Text Functionality and Imaging working groups met in 2002 to discuss and document the required level of functionality for searching, display of results sets, and the delivery of image and text content through the Repository. These decisions were informed by the current Etext search and style implementations, review of the implementation of Phase 1, and any limitations of the search engine(s). The Image Tool Specifications were developed by the Imaging group as a response to needs specified during the review of Phase 1. The GDMS Display Label and Value Rules were specified by the Metadata Steering Group. The EAD Finding Aid specification were developed in consultation with UVa Library Special Collections, based principally on the current functionality of the Virginia Heritage Project. The specifications here are drawn from meetings and the following reports, and documented as outlines on a screen-by-screen basis, from the search screens(s) through the viewing of individual texts, finding aids, or images.
