Metadata Home > Metadata Mappings > Jackson Davis to IRIS Metadata Mapping Jackson Davis is a FileMaker database created/maintained by Special Collections @ http://mcgregor.lib.virginia.edu/davis/search.html. During the spring/summer 2007, it was mapped to IRIS for migration into the digital library. IRIS is a relational database developed in FileMakerPro used for cataloging cultural heritage objects and their images. IRIS was built by five institutions: Brown University, Roger Williams University, Wesleyan University, Trinity College, and Smith College and is currently licensed by 15 institutions across the United States. UVa uses IRIS as its back-end collection management system for objects and images using the VRA Core and the Guidelines for Cataloging Cultural Objects.
