Working Assumptions, Digital Library Implementation

Digital Library Implementation Home

1.      At this point in time, the primary goal for implementing the digital library architecture is to provide the foundation for integrating all of our digital collections.

2.      There are in reality four collections in this project: all of the images are treated as one collection.

3.      We will be looking for the appropriate minimum number of object models for each of these collections even if that means that we need to make changes to the data to achieve the minimum.

4.      Every object in these four collections will subscribe to a singe behavior definition that has a basic set of methods; this set of behaviors establishes a minimum requirement for being included in the repository.

5.      Within each of the four collections, all objects will subscribe to one behavior definition that defines the basic methods for that collection; this set of behaviors establishes a minimum requirement for being included in that collection.
