LEO - Library Express On-Grounds

The University Library offers faculty a document delivery service called LEO (Library Express On-Grounds), which retrieves books or photocopies of articles from any of the University's libraries and delivers them to departmental offices. LEO also serves as the faculty member's gateway to interlibrary loan services.

The preferred way of making LEO requests is through VIRGO.

Any item found in the catalog or other VIRGO databases can be ordered by simply clicking on the "Request Item" button at the top of the citation. Free-text forms for ordering items not listed in the catalog or databases can be found under VIRGO's "User Services." LEO/ILL requests may also be made with print forms available in the ILL Office, Floor 4 West, Alderman Library, and in all other library locations.

Items that are available at U.Va. will be retrieved and delivered in 24 to 72 hours. If not available here, items will be obtained through interlibrary loan, and usually delivered in two to ten days.
