About Virginia Documents in the University of Virginia Library
The University Library is a depository for Virginia state documents. The depository program provides copies of most publications issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Government Information Resources houses documents published from 1865 to the present as well as some published prior to 1865. Those published since 1989 can be located by using Virgo, the library's online catalog. Consult Library staff for assistance in locating documents issued prior to 1989. A more comprehensive collection of pre-1865 documents is located in the Library's Special Collections.
