Electronic Full-text Journals

  Use this to get to a journal or an article that you already know about. You must have at least the title of the journal or newspaper

  Links to over 40 popular journals (mostly U.S.)
  Access to current issues emphasized; sites vary in the amount of full-text and archives available.

Print Journals

• Alderman subscribes to over 2000 print humanities and social science titles in English and other languages.
• Current print journals are located in the Periodicals/Microforms Room, 3rd floor East. Hours in Periodicals/Microforms are the same as Alderman Library.
• Current journals (and bound back issues) are shelved by Library of Congress call numbers, an alpha-numeric system of classifying library materials by subject.
• Many journals are now available online full-text as well as in print. Be sure to do a "Begins with" Journal Title search in VIRGO catalog to determine if UVA owns a specific journal. Please note the call number, location, format and holdings dates in the VIRGO record.
