Instructions for Students Accessing Electronic Course Materials on the ITC Toolkit

  1. Enter the toolkit at http://toolkit.virginia.edu

  2. Scroll down to the listing for the toolkit courses for the current semester. Click on the letter for the course number (ie. Click on "H" if the class if HIUS 401). A list of courses will appear.

  3. Identify the course number and click on the number, and this will bring up the course homepage. In most cases, the readings will be listed under the "Materials" section, so click there

  4. Choose the reading and click on the title. The course materials are scanned as pdf files and require Adobe Acrobat Reader software. Acrobat Reader is available through most University computers and as a plug-in with most web browsers. If your browser does not have Acrobat Reader, it can be downloaded for free from www.adobe.com or from the ITC page at http://www.itc.virginia.edu/itcweb/help/software/central/home.html. The course materials in pdf are large files and could take several minutes to download from a dial-in computer. On library computers, the documents will often download behind the browser screen, so if nothing appears, minimize the browser screen.
