Printing, Copying, & Scanning Services

Printing & Copying

Photocopy machines and laser printers are located in every library. Ask at any library service desk for specific locations.

To set up your own laptop to print on a library printer, see instructions for Windows XP or Macintosh OS X.

All B&W 8.5x11" printing and copying costs $.08 per copy. Some libraries offer color 8.5

x11" printing for $.60 per copy.

Cavalier Advantage cards are needed for all printing and copying. UVA and non-UVA community members can purchase a Cavalier Advantage card or add money to it at the vending machines located on the main floors in Alderman, Clemons, Fine Arts, and Brown Science and Engineering libraries. Make a deposit to your Cavalier Advantage card online or via phone or mail.

Additionally, Printing & Copying Services,  located on the 1st floor of Alderman, can often print quantities at a reduced rate.

Scanning

Publicly accessible flatbed scanners for text or image scanning are located in:

The Digital Media Lab provides access to scanners that digitize slides, 35mm film, music, and video. The Microforms Digitizing Lab (243-8926) on the third floor of Alderman Library provides assistance with scanning microfilm and microfiche.

Rare Materials Digital Services (924-4735) in the Harrison Institute and Small Special Collections Library will scan materials from Special Collections for researchers.

ITC also offers scanners and training.
