U21 Digital Humanities Workshops

From September 23-26, UVA hosts a meeting of Universitas 21 consortium faculty and staff interested in Digital Humanities. Thursday sees two events in the Scholars’ Lab: a morning session on Text-Based Studies, chaired by Jerome McGann; and an afternoon session on “Enabling Digital Scholarship,” chaired by Bethany Nowviskie.

“Thomas Moore’s Irish Melodies in the Digital Age”

Scholars’ Lab scholar-in-residence Sean Ryder (National University of Ireland, Galway) presents his work on the Thomas Moore Hypermedia Archive. Sean is visiting the Scholars’ Lab as part of the TEXTE project, an initiative centered on knowledge transfer around scholarly editing.
