Digital Sanborn Maps of Baltimore
- The Scholars' Lab provides access to Sanborn Fire Insurance maps for Baltimore, provided through Proquest/UMI. These black and white maps are digitized versions of a microfilm collection of Sanborn maps collected at the Library of Congress. The Proquest/UMI collection is restricted to UVa faculty, staff and students.

- Baltimore City iMap: The city of Baltimore has created an interactive online mapper that displays layers such as aerial photos, roads and buildings.
- CitiStat, an accountability tool used by the city of Baltimore to analyze data from various city agencies, includes a page of maps and reports on specific types of data from 2001 to 2005.
- The Maryland Geological Survey offers online publications, facts, data, maps, bibliographies and files pretaining to a variety of geologic and environmental topics. It provides some access to online maps and an order form for obtaining paper maps pertaining to geology.
- MERLIN Online (Maryland's Environmental Resources & Land Information Network) is an electronic atlas that allows a user to produce a custom "map" for any location in Maryland, including their choice of base map and theme data layers. Created by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

Sources of GIS Data
- Chesapeake Bay & Mid-Atlantic from Space includes geospatial data and interactive mapping information. Geospatial data includes Landsat 7 EMT+data, derived data, and vector GIS data. The data can be downloaded from the page. Click "Geospatial Data" and then click "Data Download," choose "List of Counties," and find Baltimore City/County data to download.
- The Maryland State Geographic Information Committee offers some GIS data available for free download; other data is available for a fee.
