download the 2007 Mac OSX installer. You must be on Grounds or using UVA Anywhere to
download this software. Note that this file is 11.3MB in size.
The installer for Mac OS 7,8 and 9 is still available.

There is a patch for those using OS 7,8 or 9 who downloaded the SFS client prior
to 11/5/2004. This patch is available
here.
- RIGHT CLICK
here to download the site.prf file. Choose SAVE LINK AS or SAVE TARGET AS
to save the file to your hard drive. Pick a place to download that you can easily
find later. THIS IS FOR MAC'S ONLY.
- Open the SciFinder Scholar Disk Image (from step I).
Follow the instructions and drag the SciFinder Scholar icon into your Applications folder.
- Open the Applications Folder, Control-Click on the SciFinder
Scholar logo and choose "Show Package Contents". A window will pop up with the SciFinder Scholar
folder contents. Then double-click on the folder labeled "Contents".
- Drag the site.prf file into the folder labeled MacOS.
This should then activate the site license appropriately.
- Run SciFinder Scholar by double-clicking on the SciFinder
Scholar logo in the Applications Folder. It should login transparently, and you'll be
able to start using it immediately.

OPTIONAL STEP
Click here to download the new IE Toolbar for
SciFinder.
- Run the
installer:
- When you're asked if
you have "custom site files," click No.
- At the end, you will
have an option to perform a connectivity test. Do not run the
test.
- Wait for the
installer to complete and close.
- Navigate to the
new C:\SFSCHLR folder on your hard disk.
- Move the site.prf file
there.
- Start SciFinder. It
should login transparently, and you'll be able to start using it
immediately.
