Research Tools for Alumni: ProQuest Databases
You must first login to HoosOnline to access ProQuest online libraries. These three libraries are free of charge to alumni.
As a U.Va. alumni you have access to three great online research tools: ProQuest general research, medical, and business databases. Containing 8850 journal titles — 6350 with full text — these tools provide one-stop access to a wide range of academic, medical, and business information.
These resources are underwritten by the Office of Engagement Alumni Education program for use by University of Virginia alumni.
About ProQuest Research
From business and political science to literature and psychology, ProQuest Research Library provides access to a multitude of popular academic subjects. The database includes more than 3,820 titles — more than 2,550 in full-text — from 1971 to the present. It features a highly respected, diversified mix of scholarly journals, trade publications, magazines and newspapers.
About ProQuest Medical
Users can find definitive research information in ProQuest Medical Library. The database offers full text for more than 800 medical titles (selected journals are available in color) with abstracts and indexing from the well-known MEDLINE database. The journals cover all major clinical and healthcare disciplines, including cardiovascular diseases, pediatrics, neurology, respiratory diseases, dentistry, anesthesiology and others.
About ProQuest Business
Featuring nearly 4,000 journals, the ProQuest Business Database, ABI/INFORM Complete, is the most comprehensive business database on the market today. The database offers nearly 3,000 full-text titles covering business and economic conditions, corporate strategies, and management techniques, as well as competitive and product information. Its international coverage gives researchers a complete picture of companies and business trends around the world.
