Video Collections
The majority of the Library's video holdings are housed in the Robertson Media Center in Clemons Library. Other subject-related videos are housed in various libraries and centers throughout the University.
Robertson Media Center
The Robertson Media Center, located in Clemons Library, supports the teaching and research missions of the University with a collection of some 16,000 videorecordings on tape and disc, 2000 spoken-word sound recordings on audio cassette and CD, and several hundred CD-ROMs. Read More.
The Indian Video Collection, housed in the Robertson Media Center, includes over 2000 Indian feature films and television programs on videocassette. The majority of the films are in Hindi/Urdu, with Panjabi, Gujarati, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Bengali also represented. Read more
Music Library
The Music Library, located in the lower two levels of Old Cabell Hall, houses over 360 video titles, featuring classic performances, biographies, and other aspects of jazz, popular, world and Western art music. Read more.
Fine Arts Library
The Fiske Kimball Fine Arts Library, located in the School of Architecture's Campbell Hall, holds a collection of over 100 videos on art and architecture topics, primarily presentations by guests and faculty at the UVA School of Architecture. Read more.
The Center for South Asian Studies
The Center for South Asian Studies, located in 110 Minor Hall, houses over 100 films documenting South Asian religions--Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, and Jainism--plus life in South Asia, ranging from a tribal culture in Afghanistan to the fishermen of Bangladesh. Read more
Arts and Sciences Center for Instructional Technology (ASCIT)
The Arts and Sciences Center for Instructional Technology (ASCIT), located in 219 Cabell Hall, supports instruction and research in the Graduate School and College of Arts and Sciences by providing audio-visual and other instructional technology for the classroom. ASCIT also serves the equipment needs of other departments holding courses or programs in Cabell and Wilson Halls. Read more.
