As a Processing Archivist, Rosalind works with the Patrick Oliphant Artwork and Papers, documents the history of enslavement at UVA for the Mellon Foundation funded project On These Grounds, edits and revises the Inclusion and Reparative Action Plan for Special Collections Technical Services, and improves access to the Julian Bond Papers.

Professional profile

Rosalind Calhoun has served as both a full-time archivist and librarian and has nearly a decade of experience working with rare books and special collections. She holds a Master of Science in Book History and Material Culture from the University of Edinburgh and a Master of Library and Information Science with a focus in Archives and Digital Curation–Special Collections from the University of Maryland. Her work has mainly centered in the 16th–20th centuries, with emphasis in art history, visual culture, material culture, and American history - particularly the history of enslavement and race. She is a proponent of inclusion, diversity, equity, and access, and is passionate about engaging with communities through instruction and outreach.
